Our ISC Blend 795 was the wine that was used to christen the USS HYMAN G. RICKOVER (SSN 795) in 2021. This week, the submarine will be officially commissioned! The commissioning of a submarine is a significant event; it marks the official entry of the submarine into active service with the Navy. We are honored that our Blend 795 will be a part of the celebration in Connecticut. It will be served at the unveiling of the Admiral Hyman Rickover exhibit at the Submarine Force Museum on Friday, October 13, and Mark & Teri will be attending both this event and the commissioning.

Admiral Hyman G. Rickover, 1900-1986, was raised in Chicago’s Lawndale neighborhood and graduated from John Marshall High School in 1918. He is known as the “Father of the Nuclear Navy” and served an unprecedented 63 years on active duty. Click here to learn more.
