Most of us have a special bottle of wine tucked away in a closet or in the back of the refrigerator. That bottle is special because of who gave it to us, or why they gave it to us, or why we bought it, or even if we made it ourselves. We never find just the right occasion to open them up. Open That Bottle Night gives us the needed push to retrieve that bottle from its hiding place and enjoy it! The wine may be past its prime, but OTBN is about the memories.
Open That Bottle Night began in 1999 by Wall Street Journal wine columnists, Dorothy Gaiter and John Brecher. It is celebrated on the last Saturday of February. Dorothy & John plan on opening a 1980 bottle of a wine called “Always Elvis” this year!
We would love to see how you celebrate. Tag us in your photos and social media posts with #OpenThatBottleNight #AugustHill #ISCbubbly.
