You can experience all kinds of fun in Utica! The LaSalle County Historical Society’s Annual Burgoo Festival is October 12 & 13 in downtown Utica. The festival’s signature dish is Burgoo Stew, a pioneer dish consisting of beef, chicken, pork, vegetables and even some AHW wine!
Saturday, October 12, 11am-7pm
- Shop the Canal Market – Over 375 vendors set up in the Canal Market and around Utica; August Hill Winery will have a tent by the Canal Market and will be selling our canned wines and glasses of warmed August Hill spiced wine in the food court.
- Live music at the Tasting Room by Paul Satori from 3:30-6:30pm
- Live entertainment by Fun Pianos on Mill Street, starting at 6pm
- Blacksmithing demos
Sunday, October 13, 9:00 am — 5:00 pm
- Enjoy the Famous Burgoo Stew, available starting at 9am. The stew is cooked outdoors Saturday night for between 12 and 18 hours over a wood-burning fire, giving it a special flavor. Squads of volunteer vegetable choppers and kettle stirrers spend the night preparing this pioneer dish.
- The Tasting Room opens at 9 am. We will be serving Mimosas, warm August Hill Spiced wine, and August Hill Chill wine slushies.
- Craft & Antique Vendors – Shop over 375 vendors; August Hill Winery will have a tent by the Canal Market and will be selling our canned wines and glasses of warme August Hill spiced wine in the food court.
- Live entertainment on Heritage Center Main Stage – Casey McGrath, 10-1pm, and Gaffney Davis Band, 2-5pm.
